Luiz Manni - Artista Plástico

Em 1993, aos 54 anos, durante um trabalho espiritual, veio à minha mente a Parábola dos Talentos (Matheus, VI, 25). Ao mesmo tempo, uma compreensão a respeito de uma vocação para o desenho, revelada aos 14 anos e nunca assumida efetivamente, pois não tinha coragem de me dedicar profissionalmente a esse trabalho. Em resumo, percebi que havia recebido um presente de Deus e estava me recusando a aceitá-lo, por falta de confiança. Ou fé. Estava enterrando o “talento”, em vez de trabalhar para seu crescimento. Na mesma semana recebi outro toque: um editor de São Paulo procurou-me, sugerindo que eu fizesse gravuras. Apresentou-me a técnica, com a qual tive uma identificação imediata, um entrosamento total. Pronto: ganhei confiança, perdi o medo, larguei o emprego e passei a ganhar meu pão com muito mais prazer. Mais: passei a receber presentes diários, com as descobertas e gratificações que esse trabalho propicia.

In 1993, at the age of 54, during a spiritual work I received a vision that opened me to understanding my natural talent of drawing that had been revealed to me at 14 years of age. At that time I had never taken myself seriously since I had no courage to dedicate myself completely to this work. In short I realized I had been given a gift from God that I was refusing to accept due to my lack of confidence, or faith. I had buried my talent rather than working on its growth. 
That same week I received yet another inspiration. An editor in Sao Paulo had searched me out suggesting I should work with prints. He introduced me to the technique with which I immediately felt familiar. I fully identified with this method which is the one I presently use. This was enough for me to gain confidence and forget my fear. I quit my job and started making my living with more pleasure. In addition to this privilege I started receiving daily gifts by the discoveries and gratifications this work enables.
